Job summary

Hyatt Regency Houston Downtown seeks an Event Planning Manager to service Sales and Event Sales bookings, liaising between clients and hotel staff. Responsibilities include detailing F&B and A/V needs, hosting site tastings, and managing room blocks for seamless event execution.

Candidates should have 2+ years in hotel event sales/planning, be highly organized, and capable of fast-paced collaboration with internal/external clients.

Qualifications

• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others with refined verbal and written communication.
• Minimum 2 years of hotel event sales/event planning experience, preferably in luxury markets.
• Proficient in general computer knowledge and able to handle a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and collaborate with clients.

Responsibilities

• Hosting sites and tastings, managing room blocks and pickup logistics.
• Ensuring smooth event execution and post-event follow-up and final billing review.

The Event Planning Manager's primary focus is servicing Sales and Event Sales bookings. This position acts as a liaison between the client and the hotel staff.

The Event Planning Manager’s responsibilities include but are not limited to : administering the Sales agreement, detailing all Food, Beverage and A/V needs, hosting sites and tastings, managing room blocks and pick up, ensuring a smooth execution of the event as well as post event follow up and final billing review.

Qualifications

• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others. Refined verbal and written communication skills
• A minimum of 2 years of hotel event sales/event planning preferably in the luxury social market
• Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
• Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, organized and beable to handle a fast-paced environment
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships
• Must be able to collaborate with internal and external clients to ensure detailed information is clearly understood and communicated properly
• Balance management of on-site events and upcoming events simultaneously
• Willingness to work late nights, evenings and weekends
