Job summary

The Joseph, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Nashville, seeks an experienced Assistant Director of Engineering to lead the Engineering team and oversee the daily maintenance of the property. This hands-on role partners with the Director of Engineering to ensure flawless operations behind the scenes in a Forbes Four-Star luxury setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years in engineering or facilities maintenance in hospitality or luxury environments.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience in Engineering/Maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, BAS, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Engineering operations maintaining luxury standards.
• Oversee preventive maintenance for guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
• Ensure safe operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, life safety, and BAS.
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance projects with minimal guest disruption.
• Support renovations, capital improvements, and equipment replacements.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop Engineering staff; lead meetings and set priorities.
