Job summary

Neiman Marcus is seeking a skilled Tailor in Houston to perform alterations, resizing, and restyling of luxury merchandise. You will support fitters to ensure high-quality alterations and maintain structural integrity of apparel.

Proven tailoring experience and ability to read and follow complex instructions are required. You will work with a range of fabrics and garment styles, with opportunities for growth within a premier luxury retailer.

Qualifications

• Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment.
• Ability to read English and understand instruction by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

Responsibilities

• Alter garments to meet Neiman Marcus quality standards, equal or better than original construction.
• Alter seams, widen/narrow shoulders as needed; rotate sleeves and shorten as required.
• Shorten backs or collars; adjust coats and pockets as directed.
• Operate and maintain sewing equipment and self-inspect completed work for quality.
