Job summary

Mauna Lani is seeking an Events Manager to bring client dreams to life by planning dynamic incentives, conferences, and group programs while upholding our resort’s luxury standards.

As a liaison between clients and the hotel, you will coordinate multiple moving parts under pressure, lead site tours, negotiate creative proposals, and work with local planners to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction. Auberge Collection supports exceptional experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Previous hotel experience in a similar role preferred.
• Experience with luxury brands preferred.
• Strong communication and writing/presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage large-scale incentives, conferences, and other group programs as needed.
• Uncover clients’ event needs through a creative approach of selling a vision and experience, with a focus on food and beverage upsell, miscellaneous upsells and room rental capture.
• Build and maintain relationships with local DMC and third party planners.
• Conduct planning site property tours and entertain planners and clients of group programs while onsite.
• Negotiate with clients through creative event proposals and menu presentations to maximize revenue while satisfying client needs.
• Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients (e.g., BEO, Planning Visits).
• Make timely decisions balancing client needs with financial, safety, and staffing goals of the hotel.
• Finalize the requirements of confirmed event bookings while maximizing revenue potential through upselling and effective communications.
