Job summary

Hourglass Cosmetics is seeking a curious Product Development Intern for an on-site role in West Hollywood, CA. You will assist the Product Development team across the lifecycle of luxury beauty products, from concept to testing and commercialization, gaining hands-on exposure to formula evaluation and manufacturing processes.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, trend research, and process improvement, with an hourly rate of $21–$22 and a potential extension to 6 months.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a degree in product development, packaging, cosmetic science or related field.
• Genuine passion for makeup, skincare and beauty industry with interest in product development.
• Curious, resourceful and able to learn and work independently when appropriate.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset with proactive problem-solving approach and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end product development of cosmetics and skincare.
• Track milestones, organize development materials and prepare meetings.
• Coordinate deliverables across the product development lifecycle.
• Participate in product evaluations: texture, payoff, wear and shade analysis.
• Document observations and track iterations to inform decisions.
• Research emerging beauty trends, formulas, ingredients, technologies.
• Summarize findings to inspire innovation and inform opportunities.
• Explore AI tools to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate with Packaging Development, PM, Marketing, Creative and Supply Chain.
