Job summary

Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa is seeking a Banquet Server to join our team in Monterey, CA. Provide flawless service for corporate events and celebrations, ensuring guest satisfaction and adherence to high standards.

The role requires friendly, professional service, strong organization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Prior F&B experience is preferred; ServSafe and CPR/First Aid certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; candidates with prior F&B experience are preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards and guest relations.
• Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication with guests and team members; handle complaints professionally.
• Able to interpret safety rules and operating instructions.
• Able to move through a crowded room to serve guests.
• Capable of following written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; meet attendance standards.
• Legal age requirements for the position are met.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet areas as assigned by Banquet Manager.
• Review Banquet Event Orders to prepare for functions.
• Arrange tables, china, glassware, linen, and service items properly.
• Prepare bread, lemons, water, butter, and accompaniments; restock as needed.
• Greet guests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Serve banquet meals to assigned sections; relay menu details.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items and preparation styles.
• Monitor stations and replenish beverages for guest satisfaction.
• Clear and reset tables promptly after courses or events.
• Adhere to safety and cleanliness standards; other duties as assigned.
