Job summary

Neiman Marcus is seeking a skilled Tailor to perform alterations, resizing, and restyling of merchandise across its stores. You will support fitters with expertise in fit, alterability, and quality of construction.

Experience in tailoring or industrial sewing is preferred. The job requires reading English, basic arithmetic, and precise measurement skills to ensure high-quality results. An employee discount and comprehensive benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment.
• Ability to read English and understand instructions from management.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

Responsibilities

• Alter constructed garments to meet quality standards, equal to or better than original construction.
• Alter seams, shoulders, sleeves, and other fit areas as directed.
• Rotate sleeves and shorten sleeves as needed.
• Shorten backs, collars, and square shoulders.
• Shorten coats, re-line, or modify pockets as required.
• Operate and maintain sewing equipment used in alterations.
• Self-inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Complete alterations tasks as assigned by Supervisor/Lead.
• Interpret written and oral instructions accurately.
• Complete tasks assigned by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead.
