Job summary

Neiman Marcus is seeking a skilled Tailor to perform alterations, resizing and restyling of merchandise across its luxury stores. You will assist fitters with fit, alterability, and structural quality of apparel items.

Responsibilities include operating sewing equipment, self-inspection of work, and completing tasks assigned by supervisors while maintaining high craftsmanship standards and consistent quality across all garments.

Qualifications

• Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment preferred.
• Ability to read English and understand instruction from supervisor.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for measurements and alterations.

Responsibilities

• Alter constructed garments to Neiman Marcus quality standards, equal or better than original.
• Alter seams, shoulders, chest, sleeves, collars, and other fit aspects as required.
• Shorten/alter sleeves and coats, reline or remake pockets as needed.
• Operate sewing equipment and maintain cleanliness during shifts.
• Self-inspect completed work to ensure quality standards.
• Complete assigned alterations per supervisor direction.
• Interpret written and oral instructions for various alteration tasks.
• Assist fitters and respond to supervisor or lead requests.
• Contribute to timely completion of all assigned tasks.
