Job summary

Saks Global is seeking a skilled Tailor for Neiman Marcus to perform alterations, resizing, and restyling of luxury garments in our stores. You will work with fitters to ensure quality and proper fit, maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.

The role requires experience in tailoring or industrial sewing, the ability to follow detailed instructions, and strong math skills for measurements. We offer comprehensive benefits and an employee discount.

Qualifications

• Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment, with exposure to a variety of garment styles and types of fabrics, is preferred.
• Ability to read English and understand instruction by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure

Responsibilities

• Alter constructed garments to meet the quality standard set by Neiman Marcus, equal or better than original construction.
• Alter seams vented or unvented; take in shoulder blades; reduce chest; narrow shoulders.
• Rotate sleeves; shorten sleeves.
• Shorten back, shorten collar; square shoulders.
• Shorten coat; re-line coat; remake inside or outside pockets.
• Operate and maintain sewing equipment.
• Self-inspect completed work to ensure quality standards.
• Complete alterations assigned by Supervisor/Lead.
• Interpret instructions furnished in written and oral form.
• Complete tasks assigned by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead.
