Job summary

The Westin at Frenchman’s Reef in St. Thomas is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to elevate dining experiences and lead a dynamic culinary team. Collaborate with our culinary leaders to deliver exceptional, guest-focused dishes in a resort setting.

You will work closely with the Executive Chef on planning, staffing, and internal procedures; manage daily requisitions and specials, and assist in hiring, training, and coaching the team. Competitive compensation and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• College degree or certification in culinary or hospitality field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen.
• Knowledge of a variety of culinary techniques and cuisines.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate daily with the Executive Chef for planning, staffing, and internal procedures.
• Complete daily food requisitions and daily specials during service.
• Assist in hiring, training, and coaching of the kitchen team.
• Play an integral role in menu development, manage inventory, and ensure all dishes meet quality standards and sanitation requirements.
