Job summary

The Hotel Wailea in Maui is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join its Relais & Chateau resort. You will ensure high-quality dishes are prepared and presented, while maintaining a guest-focused mindset and supporting daily kitchen operations.

You will work with the Chef de Cuisine on menu development, oversee two kitchen stations, and help manage costs and staffing to deliver exceptional dining experiences for guests.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and study recipes/techniques.
• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role.
• Diploma or degree in culinary arts preferred.
• Strong culinary skills and knowledge of techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality meals per standards and schedules.
• Collaborate with Chef de Cuisine on menu development.
• Manage kitchen line and food production for two kitchens.
• Inspect ingredients and maintain quality.
• Monitor labor and food costs to meet budgets.
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
