Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a Luxury Resort, responsible for multi-trade repairs, preventive maintenance, and guest-focused service at our Grand Cayman property. You will log work, respond to emergencies, and support renovations while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Ideal candidates have 5–6 years in luxury hotel maintenance, are able to read blueprints, and can handle heavy physical work.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate verifying technical skills required.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
• Strong technical skills in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry repairs and general maintenance.
• Knowledge of machines, computers, tools, equipment and systems.
• Ability to perform heavy work up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Understand potential hazards around cleaners and machinery.
• English proficiency required (reading, writing, speaking).
• Strong problem solving, time management and multitasking skills.
• Willingness to work long hours, early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance across multiple trades including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions; escalate complex issues to Maintenance Manager.
• Log all work in the maintenance system with time, parts, issues and resolutions.
• Respond to overnight emergencies and guest room issues as needed.
• Assist with minor renovations, fixture installations and special projects.
• Maintain clean, organized storage and monitor stock levels of parts.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and hotel policies.
• Interact with guests during in-room repairs and minimize disruption.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Security and other departments.
• Participate in shift handovers and departmental meetings.
