Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, AZ is seeking a professional Cook to join our upscale kitchen team. You will set up the work area, prepare and plate menu items, follow recipes, and ensure timely service in a high-volume resort setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three+ years cooking experience in upscale, high-volume hotel or freestanding restaurant.
• Culinary training or certification as Cook preferred.
• Knowledge of Food Service Sanitation Standards.
• Ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and organizes work area with all necessary supplies and equipment.
• Receives, inspects, rotates food to ensure fresh, high quality ingredients.
• Prepares and stores raw food products properly.
• Follows standardized recipes in preparation and cooking of menu items.
• Adheres to portion control guidelines and minimizes waste.
• Plates foods according to plating guidelines.
• Monitors finished product to ensure timely service and notifies supervisor of delays.
• Follows Governmental Food Sanitation Standards at all times.
• Cleans and sanitizes work surfaces and equipment.
• Notifies Supervisor of equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
• Cleans up and returns all ingredients to proper storage at end of shift.
• Ensures closing side work is complete and kitchen is secure.
