Job summary

Saks Global in New York City is seeking a Restaurant Dishwasher/Steward to maintain a pristine, organized and sanitary kitchen environment. You will ensure all plates, glassware, and tools are sanitized and ready for service to support the culinary and service teams in delivering the luxury experience Saks is known for.

Qualifications

• Previous stewarding, dishwashing, or utility experience in a high-volume restaurant or upscale hospitality environment is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Stewarding and dishwashing to support service lines and maintain cleanliness.
• Handle delicate glassware and china to minimize breakage.
• Operate and monitor the commercial dish machine, check chemicals and temps, report issues.
• Organize stewarding area with sanitation supplies and prep soaking stations.
• Maintain kitchen floors, cleanliness, and a safe slip-free environment.
• Manage waste and recycling, replace liners as needed.
• Know SDS and cleaning chemicals for deep cleaning.
• Support back-of-house with basic prep and extra cleaning as needed.
