Job summary

Stanford University is seeking an experienced Program Administrator to support a new Lung Research Center within the Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI). This hybrid role focuses on leading strategic planning, budget oversight, and cross-institutional coordination to accelerate lung cancer research and translate discoveries into patient care.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in biomedical sciences, public health, or related field.
• Experience in academic or biomedical research administration with reporting/compliance.
• Experience monitoring budgets and financial reports for research projects or grants.
• Experience planning meetings, workshops, or multi-institutional symposia.
• Experience developing content for websites/newsletters/program communications.
• Familiarity with institutional administrative/financial systems in a large academic/medical research institute.
• Experience with philanthropic donors, private foundations, fundraising teams.
• Experience working with top-tier executives and/or high-net-worth individuals.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and analysis for complex programs with significant challenges.
• Oversee administration and evaluation of programs; ensure policy/regulatory compliance.
• Represent the program to university and external stakeholders.
• Develop and manage outreach and communications strategies; ensure compliance.
• Oversee staff and program implementation.
• Develop and oversee budgets; monitor, forecast, and report finances.
