Job summary

Albemarle County Public Schools’ Mountain View Upper Elementary School in Charlottesville, Virginia seeks a part-time Lunch Monitor for the 2026-27 school year. Position is 2 hours per day with duties including supervising lunch, assisting with classroom operations, and supporting instructional activities.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent; CPR certification is encouraged. You will work under the supervision of the classroom teacher and building principal to support students

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Willing to obtain CPR certification.
• Ability to communicate with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher with instructional plans and follow-up lessons.
• Maintain a pleasant and orderly classroom environment and assist with materials setup.
• Supervise lunchroom and other non-instructional periods.
• Assist with behavior management and appropriate discipline under teacher supervision.
• Assist students with transportation between learning environments and with related tasks.
