Job summary

Athens Elementary is seeking an Elementary Lunch & Recess Paraprofessional for East Leroy Elementary School in Michigan. The role focuses on supervising students during lunch and recess, implementing approved behavior support strategies, and ensuring safe transitions between cafeteria, playground, and classrooms.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, and First Aid/CPR credentials are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision of elementary-aged students at lunch and recess times.

• Report accidents to the elementary office in a timely manner.
• Ability to communicate in a positive manner with children and other staff members.
• Willingness to respect school confidentiality policies regarding students and their families.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

PAY: Per Athens Educational Support Personnel Association Master Agreement

STARTING DATE: October 2026

HOURS: Approximately 11:15 A.M. - 1:20 P.M. on full days of school

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong desire to work with elementary school aged students
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred
