Job summary

The McHenry County ROE Application Consortium is seeking a Lunch/Recess Monitor for Ringwood School Primary Center. The role supports student safety during lunch and recess, reporting to the Building Principal, and follows district procedures. Work year includes 172 days with hours between 11:00 a.m.

and 1:30 p.m., at $15.00 per hour. Candidates should be able to respond calmly to emergencies, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate with staff to supervise students and ensure a positive

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunch in serving lines, eating, and dismissal.
• Monitor recess and playground areas as needed.
• Assist students with trays, opening containers, seating and dismissal.
• Assist in lunchroom cleanup and cooperate with food service staff.
• Circulate among tables to provide help and resolve minor issues.
• Maintain discipline according to district policies and attend to spills.

Building Principal

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Work Year: School days when children are present

• 172 Days
• Hours vary based on location - between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
• $15.00 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Desire to work with students & have an interest in their safety and well-being while having lunch
• Ability to respond to emergency situations calmly, quickly & compassionately
• Ability to make judgments & implement instructions/procedures fordiscipline of children
• Respect confidentiality
• Must be able to use tact and diplomacy in human relations
• Must complete background check, physical and TB test

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervisestudents during lunch periods in serving lines, while eating and during lunchroom dismissal.
• Supervisestudents at recess and on playground equipment as needed.
• Assiststudents in securing trays, opening food containers, seating and dismissal.
• Assistin the lunchroom by cleaning tables & other duties as requested or assigned.
• Circulateamong tables to provide assistance or to resolve minor issues.
• Maintaindiscipline in the lunchroom according to school and district policies.
• Notifycustodian of any large spills and provides assistance in keeping table tops clean.\Works cooperatively with food service staff.
• Continuous mental & visual attention to monitor areas where many children are present
• Completetasks or responsibilities as directed by Building Principal
• Adhereto the district's expectations with regards to attendance and punctuality
