Job summary

Bar Sprezzatura in the Heathman Hotel is seeking a Lunch Cook to join our culinary team. You will execute dishes with precision, maintain high quality, and contribute to a fast-paced, fine dining environment.

Ideal candidates bring 2–4 years of fine dining kitchen experience, strong knifework, plating, portioning and teamwork. You will work across stations with a guest-first mindset and a willingness to learn and grow within Makeready’s culinary standards.

About the Role

As a Lunch Cook with Bar Sprezzatura, you will be an essential part of our culinary team, executing dishes with precision, consistency, and care. You’ll uphold our high standards of quality while working alongside passionate chefs in a fast-paced, fine dining environment. This role is perfect for a motivated cook with strong fundamentals and a drive to learn and grow.

9:00am - 5:00 pm

Our Ideal Candidate

A motivated culinary professional who is organized, detail oriented and knowledgeable. You will be an integral part of our kitchen team with a passion for food and a guest first mentality. You have amazing attention to detail, work well as part of a team, and work well under pressure. You uphold culinary standards of excellence and are comfortable working on multiple stations in the kitchen. You have a strong desire to learn and build your culinary skillset.

What You Bring to the Table

• 2-4 years’ experience in a fine dining or casual fine dining high volume kitchen
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, guests, and your peers
• Extensive knowledge of food and cooking techniques including knifework, plating, portioning, and precision cooking
• A positive, “can do” attitude
• Knowledge of kitchen safety protocols
• Ability to learn and retain information quicklyIntellectual curiosity
• Ability to work clean, organized, and as part of a team
• Able to move and lift 40 pounds at a time
• At least 18 years of age
• Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period
