Job summary

Intuitive Machines, LLC is seeking a Space Environments Engineer in Houston to join the JETS Space Environments team. You will contribute to multidisciplinary analysis and modeling for NASA programs, and help ensure environmental compatibility of spacecraft hardware from design through verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5–10 years of related experience.
• 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination (MS/PhD).
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in scientific programming and modeling/simulation.
• Strong analytical and computational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary field.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to NASA programs in space environments definition and modeling.
• Develop semi-empirical and theoretical models related to spacecraft environments.
• Analyze contamination sources and lunar dust impacts on hardware.
• Assess optical property impacts and radiation effects on materials.
• Provide systems engineering support in requirements and verification planning.
• Conduct trade studies and participate in hazard/risk reviews.
• Participate in program milestones and programmatic reviews.
