Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Ground Software Engineer in the Lunar Permanence program to help build, test, and deploy the software for our mission operations centers. You will enable Earth-based operators to perform flight and ground system tasks, from telemetry processing to health monitoring and training.

The role requires collaboration with space vehicle teams, front-end integration with React-based frameworks, and strong Python or Rust skills.

Qualifications

B.S. or higher degree in Software or Engineering related field.
5+ years of software development experience.
Proven software development in Python and/or Rust.
Willingness to work with frontend developers and React-based frameworks.
Experience in full lifecycle software engineering including design, implementation, verification, integration and release.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, test, verify and deploy mission operations software systems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define software requirements and designs.
Develop rapid prototypes to prove concepts and quantify risks.
Plan, develop and lead system verification and qualification for safety-critical standards.
Produce documentation for architecture, verification plans and training materials.
Follow development processes meeting standards for safety and reliability.
Support frequent update cycles for pre-flight testing and mission validation.
Support mission control software operations during training and flight.
Integrate software components and run unit/system-level tests with simulators.
