Job summary

Insight Global in Houston is seeking a GNC Automation Engineer to support the design, development, and validation of guidance, navigation, and control systems for advanced lunar spacecraft. You will develop flight software, integrate navigation sensors and actuators, and perform HWIL/SWIL testing.

You will collaborate with software, avionics, and systems engineering teams to test, troubleshoot, and optimize navigation and control capabilities for mission success.

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace Engineering with 3+ years experience or MS with 1 year experience.
• 3+ years developing spacecraft automation software.
• Experience with real-time software development.
• Familiarity with GN&C hardware including IMU, Star Trackers, GPS, LIDAR, and/or OpNav systems.
• Experience with SWIL and/or HWIL testing and integration.
• Exposure to relative navigation, image processing, or feature detection techniques.
• Experience supporting flight control analysis and evaluating vehicle performance and stability.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with GN&C sensor testing, planning, or modeling.
• Familiarity with VxWorks or other real-time operating systems.
• Experience with Git version control.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate navigation and control systems for lunar spacecraft.
• Develop flight software and integrate navigation sensors and effectors.
• Execute HWIL/SWIL testing and 6-DOF simulations.
• Collaborate with software, avionics, and systems engineering teams to test and optimize capabilities.
• Evaluate vehicle performance and stability.
