Job summary

Intuitive Machines seeks a Data Analyst to support the Lunar Data Analytics group in Phoenix, working with LROC and ShadowCam data. You will process planetary imagery, build terrain models, and develop tools while collaborating with researchers and engineers.

You will apply remote sensing, image processing, and AI/ML techniques to analyze datasets, document workflows, and contribute to outreach efforts on campus and beyond. This in-person role is based in Phoenix, AZ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of remote sensing, image processing, and statistics.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, R or Matlab.
• Experience with AI/ML for image classification and GeoAI.
• Experience with planetary data sets (LROC/Shado wCam) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-resolution lunar terrain models using SocetSet and SocetGXP.
• Assist science team with data processing to advance production and research.
• Develop and maintain data processing tools and procedures.
• Summarize remotely sensed data for papers, posters, and talks.
• Support education and public outreach activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by investigators.
