Job summary

Ganahl Lumber Company in California is seeking a Lumberman to load and unload building materials and assist with storage and delivery operations. The role, sometimes called Load Builder, requires practical use of hand and power tools and basic material handling.

You will read work orders, tag loads, stack items in yards, and maintain a safe, clean work environment while following company policies. Frequent lifting up to 75 pounds and ability to operate forklifts or pallet jacks are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and relay written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screens as requested.
• Must wear prescribed PPE when handling material or operating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Move loads to and from storage or production areas using hand or power tools and equipment.
• Attach identifying tags to loads, stock or materials.
• Read work orders or oral instructions to determine assignments.
• Stack loads in yards, storage or production areas, or in delivery vehicles.
• Carry out general yard duties and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
• Review deliveries for quality and accuracy; review accompanying documents.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Adhere to company policies and work requirements.
