Job summary

McCoy’s Building Supply in Palestine, TX is seeking a Yard Crewmember who will assist customers in the lumberyard, operate a forklift, stock products, and provide general store support.

You will greet customers, load and unload, respond to questions, verify tickets, and help keep the yard and warehouse safe and organized. A high school diploma is preferred; forklift certification is required; training levels 1 and 2 will be provided; overtime may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Forklift operator certification required.
• On-the-job training; completion of levels 1 and 2 of the positional training offered.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter the yard.
• Load and unload products safely and accurately.
• Respond to customer questions regarding products.
• Inform store management of customer complaints or requests promptly.
• Move, stock, and rearrange building materials in the yard, warehouse, and interior of store.
• Perform routine forklift safety checks per company guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of lumberyard and warehouses.
• Verify customer or vendor tickets match items loaded.
• Cover exposed materials to prevent weather damage.
• Cut lumber and related materials as requested by customers.
• Operate a forklift.
• Attend all store meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
