Job summary

QXO is hiring an Assistant Yard Manager to lead daily lumber yard operations, ensuring safety, organization, and customer-focused service. You will supervise Yard Associates, coordinate workloads, and support inventory accuracy to meet on-time deliveries.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong knowledge of lumber/building materials, and excellent communication. You will work with Yard, Dispatch, Drivers, and Sales teams to maintain product availability and yard standards.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience directing yard staff and coordinating tasks.
• Knowledge of lumber and building materials to support yard operations.
• Strong communication and customer-service focus in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead Yard Associates Daily, assign tasks, monitor completion.
• Ensure safe loading, staging, and inventory accuracy.
• Oversee delivery prep and customer pickup readiness.
• Coordinate material movement between storage, staging, and dispatch.
• Maintain yard cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.
