Job summary

Carter Lumber in Indiana seeks a dependable yard associate to assist contractors and DIYers with selection and loading, stage materials, and maintain a clean, organized yard.

The role may serve as back-up driver for non-CDL trucks; CDL/For Hire license required, with training provided and opportunities for advancement.

This full-time position starts early (6–8am) and requires lifting up to 100 lbs and outdoor work in all conditions.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required.
• Friendly personality.
• Ability to be a team player.
• Ability to work outside in all conditions.
• Ability to lift 100 lbs regularly.
• Indiana For Hire license, or CDL.
• Full-time position; hours may vary, start 6–8am.

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors and DIYers with order selection and loading.
• Pull and stage materials for pickup and/or delivery.
• Maintain yard inventory with cycle counts; keep yard organized and clean.
• Operate forklift and other tools; training available to attain certification.
• Back up driver for non-CDL trucks; load and deliver windows, doors, trim, and related items to jobsites.
