Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc is seeking a general labor candidate to safely handle lumber products, verify material meets customer requirements, and assist in various material handling tasks. The role involves stacking, labeling, tagging, and loading materials while maintaining inventory and a clean workspace.

The position requires basic math, the ability to operate a staple gun, and adherence to safety protocols. 18+ years old; prior lumber/manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Manufacturing or lumber experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to perform basic math.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Labels material based on type, size, and count.
• Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment.
• Bundles and secures material, including corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follows instructions for stacking material according to policy and customer requirements.
• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintains inventory of tags and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
• Records production on production sheets.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Assists with other areas by moving material, loading and unloading carts.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as required.
