Job summary

Builders FirstSource, America’s leading supplier of building materials, is seeking a Dispatcher - Lumber Yard in Vancouver, WA. The role coordinates vehicle and driver assignments to move materials efficiently and safely on a busy yard floor.

You will compile vehicle lists, assign trips and lift operators, track departures and cargo, communicate with customers to locate missing or delayed merchandise, and help establish routes while supporting drivers and helpers on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced yard environment with occasional exposure to moving parts and noise.

Responsibilities

• Compiles list of available vehicles.
• Assigns vehicles and orders to lift operators.
• Records time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return.
• Directs drivers by two-way radio.
• Confers with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged merchandise.
• Establishes service or delivery routes.
• Assigns helpers to drivers.
