Job summary

The Baillie Group, including AHI, is seeking lumber stackers/general laborers for their Amissville, VA facility. These full-time roles involve stacking boards, pulling by sort numbers, and creating square bundles with attention to quality and safety.

Previous warehouse or general labor experience is preferred. A high school diploma is preferred but not required; forklift experience is a plus. Benefits include health and life insurance, paid vacation and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Identify sort numbers for carts and pull boards accordingly.
• Pull boards into correct carts based on sort numbers.
• Pile boards to meet criteria: longest top/bottom/outside; edges knot-free and defect-free.
• Bundle boards square with edge boards against cart pipes; finish with top layer.
• Push finished bundles out for forklift removal.

AHI, a member of the Baillie Group, is hiring for lumber stacker / general laborers at their Amissville, VA location. If you previously worked as a warehouse worker or any entry level general labor position before, you'll be a great fit for this role. These positions are full time opportunities working for a world class hardwood lumber manufacturer

• Minimum - Anticipated Maximum Salary: $15 - $17/hour*

Identify the sort numbers for the carts you are responsible for. Pull boards into the correct carts according to the sort numbers on the boards.

Pile the boards with the following criteria:

• Top, bottom and outside boards will be the longest
• All edges will be free of knots, wane, writing and other defects
• Bundle must be square with edge boards against the pipes of the cart
• Build each bundle until full and finish off with a nice top layer
• Push out finished bundle for forklift to remove
• Previous experience as a warehouse worker preferred
• Previous experience as an entry level worker is preferred
• Previous experience working on a farm is a plus!
• High School degree preferred, but not required
