Job summary

Baillie Group's Clinton, MI facility is hiring a Lumber Stacker / General Laborer to support wood processing operations. This full-time role involves identifying sort numbers, pulling boards into the correct carts, and bundling lumber for forklift removal. Prior warehouse experience is preferred, and a high school diploma is optional.

You will work as part of a team in a manufacturing environment with health, life insurance, paid vacation and holidays as part of benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse or general labor environments.
• Ability to follow sorting instructions and work with lumber.
• Team-oriented and reliable with basic math for sorting.

Responsibilities

• Identify sort numbers for carts and pull boards accordingly.
• Arrange boards so longest are on top and edges are defect-free.
• Bundle lumber square with edge boards against pipes; top layer finish.
• Push finished bundle for forklift removal; assist as needed.

Our Clinton, MI facility is hiring for a Lumber Stacker / General Laborer. If you previously worked as a warehouse worker or any entry level general labor position before, you'll be a great fit for this role. These positions are full time opportunities working for a world class hardwood lumber manufacturer. Located in Lenawee County, Michigan. The Village of Clinton.

Identify the sort numbers for the carts you are responsible for. Pull boards into the correct carts according to the sort numbers on the boards.

Pile the boards with the following criteria:

• Top, bottom and outside boards will be the longest
• All edges will be free of knots, wane, writing and other defects
• Bundles must be square with edge boards against the pipes of the cart
• Build each bundle until full and finish off with a nice top layer
• Push out the finished bundle for forklift to remove
• Previous experience as a warehouse worker preferred
• Previous experience as an entry level worker is preferred
• Previous experience working on a farm is a plus!
• High School degree preferred, but not required
