Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking a Sawyer to process cutting i-joists to specifications, ensuring a quality product is produced. The role involves reading cut sheets, setting up machines for accurate cuts, and maintaining inventory for production goals.

Responsibilities include sawing with safety adherence, working in a team, and fulfilling daily targets. This is a full-time on-site position in a manufacturing environment that values reliability and readiness to work in varying weather

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, mill, or lumber environment preferred.
• Ability to operate a forklift and chainsaw.
• Knowledge of safety procedures when handling saws and tools.
• Manual dexterity and ability for repetitious work.
• Ability to read and understand simple diagrams and blueprints.
• Must be able to work at a fast pace.
• Ability to work in inclement weather and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Saw i-joists and read cut sheets to determine size and grade; set up machines for accurate cuts.
• Maintain inventory and meet daily/weekly production goals; load/unload semi flat beds.
• Adhere to safety requirements and report defects to supervisor.
