Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. in Texas is seeking a General Laborer to safely handle lumber products and verify that materials meet customer requirements and company standards.

You will move, stack, label, and secure materials, operate staple guns, assist with loading, and maintain a clean, organized work area while following safety programs.

Qualifications

• No minimum experience required; manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
• Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Label material by type, size, and count.
• Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band, bundle and secure material, including corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follow stacking instructions per policy and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintain inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
