Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a General Labor team member to safely handle lumber products and verify materials meet customer requirements and company expectations. The role involves moving, labeling, stacking, and packing lumber, maintaining clean work areas, and following safety procedures.

No formal experience required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred; a HS diploma or GED is acceptable, and candidates must be at least 18 years old. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• Manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
• Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Labels material based on specifications: type, size, and count.
• Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment.
• Binds, bundles and secures material, including corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follows stacking instructions per company policy and customer requirements.
• Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
• Records production on production sheets.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Assists with other areas by moving material and loading/unloading carts.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as required.
