Job summary

Lithia & Driveway is hiring an Automotive Technician in Midland, TX. You will diagnose vehicle issues, perform repairs and road-test to ensure quality while documenting procedures. Maintain an organized workspace and adhere to safety and Lithia standards.

Training and ASE cert maintenance are part of the role, with opportunities to grow within the dealership family. Applicants should have a valid driver's license and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent, 18 years or older required.
• No previous experience required.
• A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair work with efficiency and accuracy per repair order and Lithia standards.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and complete work per safety requirements.
• Road-test vehicles to ensure repair quality and record results in service system.
• Maintain organized workspace and inventory of common tools; use special tools as needed.
• Complete training and maintain ASE certifications; engage in technician training as assigned.
• Communicate with dealership personnel to satisfy customer needs and safety standards.

Dealership:L0124 All American Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of MidlandAll American Chrysler Jeep Dodge of MidlandWhat You'll DoPerform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standardsDiagnose cause of malfunctionComplete all work according to the applicable safety requirementsRoad-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair workAccurately record time spent repairs utilizing company time clocking proceduresDocument work performed on repair order and document test procedures/resultsResponsible for providing and maintaining an inventory of normal mechanics tools to include screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, pliers, hammers, chisels and punches, and other tools needed to perform the work for which the technician is trained and not normally inventoried by the service department as \"special tools.\"Return special tools to proper placeUse shop supplies and materials in a practical and economical mannerMaintain an organized and clean workspace, completing a stall cleaning every day.Ensure that customer's vehicles are returned to them as clean as they were prior to being serviced.Complete all required trainingAcquire and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications by completing the necessary and required trainingParticipate in and utilize technical training as assigned by managementReview the technical bulletins and other publications as assigned by managementConstructively communicate with other dealership personnel as required to satisfy customer needs.Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers.Maintain personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards according to departmental policies. Clean gray work shirts, creased gray work trousers, shirts to be tucked in at all times.
