Ocean Mazda West Kendall is seeking a dependable, motivated, and quality-focused Lube Technician / Entry-Level Automotive Technician to join our Service team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic automotive maintenance experience who wants to continue developing their technical skills and build a career in the automotive industry.
The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, understands the importance of safety and accuracy, and is willing to learn and grow through hands‑on experience and manufacturer training.
Perform routine vehicle maintenance services, including oil and filter changes.
Perform tire rotations and inspect tire condition and pressure.
Check and top off vehicle fluids as required.
Inspect and replace air filters, cabin filters, bulbs, and wiper blades when authorized.
Perform basic battery inspections and testing.
Assist with basic maintenance and minor repairs within the technician's level of training and experience.
Perform multi‑point vehicle inspections according to dealership and manufacturer procedures.
Identify visible maintenance or safety concerns during inspections and properly document findings.
Communicate identified concerns to the appropriate Service Advisor or supervisor.
Complete assigned work accurately and efficiently.
Follow repair orders and dealership procedures.
Properly document services performed.
Maintain assigned work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
Properly handle and dispose of oil, filters, fluids, and other automotive materials.
Follow dealership safety procedures and applicable environmental requirements.
Use vehicle lifts, shop equipment, and tools safely.
Protect customer vehicles while performing service.
Maintain cleanliness inside customer vehicles and use appropriate vehicle protection.
Assist other technicians and Service Department personnel when needed.
Participate in Mazda and dealership training programs.
Complete assigned manufacturer certifications and training requirements.
Follow company policies, Service Department procedures, and quality standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by Service Management.
Every vehicle must be serviced with attention to detail and safety.
Lube Technicians are expected to:
Verify that oil drain plugs and filters are properly installed and secured.
Confirm appropriate fluid levels before completing service.
Properly torque wheels according to required specifications.
Perform assigned inspections completely and accurately.
Immediately report damaged components, unsafe conditions, or concerns to management.
Never perform work beyond their level of training without appropriate supervision.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Treat every customer vehicle with care and respect.
Accuracy and quality are more important than rushing a vehicle through the shop.

Automotive technical school or vocational training is a plus.
Franchise dealership experience is a plus.
Mazda experience is a plus but not required.
Basic understanding of automotive maintenance and vehicle systems.
Ability to safely operate automotive tools and shop equipment.
Ability to work around vehicles, lifts, fluids, tools, and other shop equipment.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and perform the physical requirements of the position.
Ability to lift and move automotive parts, tires, and equipment as required.
Strong attention to detail.
Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
Must be able to meet applicable pre‑employment requirements.
