Base Pay Range

$15.00/hr - $21.00/hr

Basic Function

LUBE TECHNICIAN

Responsible for inspecting vehicles, identifying problems affecting performance, and performing oil changes, including installing and changing vehicle lubricating fluids.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle identification number against documents and notify supervisor of discrepancies.
• Inspect vehicles for issues, including testing points of interest and checking for leaks.
• Install/change lubricating fluids and dispose of used oil following safety and OSHA standards.
• Clean engine parts, remove grime, and apply lubricants.
• Inspect tires, check air pressure, and replace filters like air and oil filters.
• Perform simple service or repairs as directed.
• Drive vehicles for inspection, pickup, or storage as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Assist with errands or other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to carry and transport up to 80 pounds.
• Work in seasonal temperatures below 60°F or above 90°F.
• Stand for long periods, with frequent movement and environmental exposure.
• Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity required.
• Ability to operate various motor vehicles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance, including oil changes and tire work.
• Preference for automotive technical training.
• Ability to verify numbers, follow instructions, and complete forms.
• Basic computer skills and good communication skills.
