Job summary

Voss Hyundai in Dayton, OH, is seeking a full-time Lube Technician to service vehicles to dealership and factory standards. You will perform oil changes, replace filters, check fluid levels, and assist with preventative maintenance.

You will work with parts and service teams, participate in training, keep the shop safe and organized, and maintain tools. The position offers health benefits, a 401(k), vacation, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Guarantee customer service and satisfaction in daily tasks.
• Perform repairs and maintenance per repair orders and standards.
• Sell lubrication, safety inspections, and related services.
• Drain and refill engine oil; replace oil and air filters.
• Inspect and top up vehicle fluids; check tires and TPMS.
• Keep the work area clean and organized; follow OSHA rules.
• Document all work and communicate with parts as needed.
• Participate in manufacturer training as assigned.

Lube Tech Summary

Lube Tech lubricates the moving parts of vehicles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES Include The Following

• Works towards guaranteeing ultimate customer service and satisfaction.
• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Sells lubrication, safety inspection, and other related services.
• Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.
• Replaces oil and air filters.
• Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as necessary.
• Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
• Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants
• Adds proper fluids to radiator and battery
• Completes inspections sheets
• Resets maintenance lights/tire pressure monitoring systems(TPMS)
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts
• Documents all work performed on the repair order
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins
• Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
• Maintains equipment and work area to OSHA safety requirements
• Keeps shop area neat and clean
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received
• Advises manager of needed repairs to equipment
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management
• Adheres to work schedules
• Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION

Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
