Job summary

Super Star Car Wash is seeking an Lube Assistant Manager to oversee the oil and lube department, ensuring quality, customer satisfaction, safety, and efficient operations at our Phoenix-area Full Service locations.

The role requires 1.5–2 years of management experience, a strong sales/customer service background, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment. Valid HS diploma or GED and willingness to work a flexible schedule are essential.

Qualifications

  • 1.5–2 years of management experience required.
  • Car wash, retail or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Strong background in sales and customer service, with a focus on membership-based models preferred.
  • Technical automotive training
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience leading and developing a team in a high sales environment.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Hands-on, results-driven mindset with a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment, post-offer criminal background check
  • Ability to transfer to other locations within the designated district

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise operations of the oil and lube department.
  • Work closely with General Manager and Site Operations Team.
  • Execute departmental open and close duties and follow designated procedures.
  • Ability to work outdoors in ALL weather conditions.
  • Ensure a safe environment for all employees and customers by ensuring compliance with safety procedures and report safety or maintenance issues to management.
  • Maintain Quality Control factors associated with customer's overall experience, products and services, scheduling and labor cost control with respect to historical performance and seasonality.
  • Interview, Hire, Train and Develop a team of Lube Technicians ensuring employees have a clear idea of what is expected of them, standards of acceptable and unacceptable performance, frequent measurement against these standards, and then provide appropriate training to close any performance gaps
  • Communicate effectively at all levels with employees, customers, peers, and management.
  • Motivate Lube Technicians to complete job tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Ensure proper customer care
  • Facilitate and assess damage claims
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, and policies at Local, State and Federal levels
  • Delegate authority to employees when appropriate
  • Support company initiatives, including but not limited to marketing, promotions, sales, customer service, and talent management initiatives
  • Ability to work flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Keep the entire property spotlessly clean and organized
  • Other duties as assigned

What The Role Is

The Lube Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality, customer relations and satisfaction, maintenance and upkeep of the facility, employee relations, development, training and coaching, facility purchasing and cost controls for the oil and lube department at our Full Service locations. An ideal candidate will have the ability to anticipate customer needs, build relationships and ensure safety guidelines. Strong upselling skills for maximizing sales, ability to multi-task and adjust to the workings of a transitional weather environment.

Essential Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities

Supervisory

Operations
  • Drain and change oil in vehicles, following all safe-handling procedures to correctly dispose of used motor oil.
  • Top off fluids in vehicle engines, including transmission and windshield wiper fluid Assist customers with any request to enhance their experience
  • Inspect vehicles to determine maintenance and repair needs. Replace different types of filters
  • Follow safety protocols for working in the repair shop and driving vehicles
  • Fill out work order forms as tasks are completed and communication all areas with customer

Base Pay

The hourly rate during management training will range from $XX.XX to $XX.XX, before transitioning to a non-exempt salaried role at the equivalent annualized salary. The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on relevant experience.
