Job description

Location: Lubbock, TX, 79401

Leprino Lubbock is seeking a Nutrition Packaging Operator. The Packaging Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the whey bagging line and other duties as assigned.

Salary

$23.65 per hour. Additional $1 differential for hours worked between 6 pm and 6 am. Weekly pay.

Responsibilities
  • Safe operation of whey bagging equipment and associated processes.
  • Monitoring whey powder quality and packaged product quality.
  • Completing hourly scale and metal detector checks.
  • Reconciling bag and pallet weights.
  • Participate in and implement continuous improvement.
  • Complete paperwork and computer data tracking timely and accurately.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and identify potential problems to maintain product specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with co‑workers, team leads, and supervisors.
  • Follow sanitation procedures of all equipment at shutdown.
  • Complete assigned GMP and housekeeping duties as required.
  • Perform work in a safe manner by following safety procedures and policies.
  • Ensure product meets food safety, regulatory, and quality requirements by following the Food Safety Plan, Quality Plan, and company policies.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend basic English.
  • Ability to evaluate and identify mechanical conditions and make adjustments or corrective action as necessary.
  • Ability to access elevated work areas such as climbing ladders or stairs.
  • Basic math skills to perform mathematical functions.
  • Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to maintain a clean work area according to good manufacturing processes.
  • Good communication skills to communicate with co‑workers and oncoming/outgoing shifts.
Preferred Qualifications

Six months of work experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in machine operation and troubleshooting are preferred.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift moderate weights repeatedly throughout the shift up to 50 lbs. Required to stand/walk, climb steps or ladders, bend at knees, make pipe connections, lift equipment parts, and work in hot, humid, and cold areas.
