Job summary

CFS in Streetsboro, Ohio is seeking a Transportation Specialist for the 2nd shift to gain expertise in LTL and expedited services while working directly with customers and carriers. This role offers hands-on development of logistics and supply chain experience within a fast-paced brokerage environment.

You will gain exposure to freight rating, carrier negotiations, transportation management systems (TMS), and shipment execution, contributing to service improvements and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in customer service, transportation, logistics, or 3PL operations preferred.
• Knowledge of LTL freight rating, classifications, density calculations, and NMFC guidelines.
• Understanding of LTL carrier tariffs, rules, and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Ability to manage high-volume communication through phone, email, and web-based platforms.
• Availability to work a 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM schedule.

Responsibilities

• Quote and schedule LTL, Volume LTL, and expedited shipments based on customer requirements.
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, and shipping contacts to ensure timely pickup and delivery.
• Dispatch carriers and provide shipping documentation, including bills of lading.
• Track and trace shipments and communicate status updates as needed.
• Resolve shipment issues, service exceptions, and customer concerns.
• Support freight claims and assist with process improvement initiatives.
