Job summary

The LTC Technician (In-House Operations) cum Trainer at Prolec-GE Waukesha, Inc. leads LTC assembly, overhaul, testing, and controls activities within the in-house operations and BU Training Center.

This role serves as a technical authority and trainer, ensuring high‑quality work while developing technical competency across internal teams and customers. You will work with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sales/Marketing, and Manufacturing to standardize practices, mentor staff, and deliver

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least 5 years of industry experience in power transformers and LTC systems.
• Advanced post‑secondary education may substitute experience.
• Experience in utility, OEM, or service in Power Transmission, Distribution, or Generation.
• Proven technical report writing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly, disassembly, repair, and overhaul of LTCs.
• Execute electrical and mechanical testing (Hi-Pot, TTR, Ductor, Megger).
• Maintain clearances and tolerances for voltage classifications.
• Troubleshoot LTC mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Support oil processing knowledge related to LTC systems.
• Prepare and submit technical reports and training records.
