Job summary

Red River Pharmacy Long Term Care in Little Rock, AR, is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to join our growing team. The Staff Pharmacist will ensure safe and accurate dispensing of medications for long-term care residents while delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.

Qualifications

  • PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited college.
  • Current, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Arkansas.
  • Long Term Care pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy management software and EHRs.

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Evaluate prescriptions for accuracy, dosing, interactions, allergies, and therapeutic appropriateness.
  • Counsel healthcare professionals regarding medication therapies when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and facility staff to optimize patient care.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians and support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate patient medication records and documentation.
  • Participate in quality assurance and medication safety initiatives.
  • Assist with inventory management and controlled substance accountability.
  • Support accreditation standards and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Red River Pharmacy Long Term Care is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Staff Pharmacist to join our growing team. The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications to long-term care residents while providing exceptional pharmaceutical care and maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations.

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Current, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the State of Arkansas

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy management software and electronic health records is preferred.

On-Call Rotation

Participation in the pharmacy call rotation is required as needed. Staff pharmacists are expected to participate in after-hours, weekend, holiday, and emergency call coverage based on departmental staffing needs.
