LTC PHARMACIST
Location: Fresno, CA 93726 Pay Rate: $65+ per hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10:30 AM-7:00 PM Weekends: None
We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join a long-term care (LTC) pharmacy team in Fresno, CA. This position offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule with no weekend requirements. The Pharmacist will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, supporting patient safety, consulting with healthcare providers, and helping ensure compliance with applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review, verify, prepare, and dispense prescription medications accurately.
- Monitor medication compliance, potential overuse, drug interactions, and other medication-related concerns.
- Ensure medications are appropriate for patients and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation.
- Counsel patients and answer questions regarding medications, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Provide consultation regarding prescription and non-prescription medications.
- Identify and communicate drug-related problems to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions when required.
- Maintain appropriate inventory of medications and medical supplies.
- Supervise and provide direction to pharmacy technicians, clerks, and other pharmacy staff.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Support patient care services and medication management initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Active and unrestricted California Pharmacist license.
- PharmD or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited program.
- Current pharmacist licensure in good standing with the California State Board of Pharmacy.
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications, drug interactions, and pharmacy practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to medication safety.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with healthcare providers and pharmacy staff.
- Long-term care pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience supervising pharmacy technicians or other pharmacy staff is a plus.
