Job summary

Good Samaritan Society – Albert Lea is seeking a full-time Driver to transport residents to outings, appointments and activities in Albert Lea, MN. This day shift role offers a predictable schedule with no weekends or holidays as scheduled.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 21, possess a CDL, and meet Sanford Health requirements including DOT logs and safety standards. Training is provided during onboarding.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older and have excellent customer service skills.
• Driver history must comply with Sanford driver qualification standards for insurability.
• CDL license and medical guidelines compliance required; training provided if not current at time of hire.

• Maintain vehicle and equipment per manufacturer recommendations and DOT requirements.

Good Samaritan Society – Albert Lea is an 85-bed long-term skilled care and transitional care facility located in southern Minnesota in an area known as “The Land Between the Lakes”.

• Transport residents on outing events, to appointments, and miscellaneous locations.
• CDL is required

Job Summary

Combines motor vehicle handling ability, communication skills and patient/resident handling. Patient/resident sensitivity and confidentiality are a must, and are practiced at all times. Combine communication skills and patient/resident handling. On a continuum the driver must develop an understanding of the patient's/resident's physical and emotional status. Works with all ages of patients/residents. Transports safely and as scheduled. Assures that all support equipment are well maintained and in good operating condition. Sets up equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations and internal policy. Maintains appropriate records per Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and internal required reports. Aware and communicates scheduling conflicts as needed or predicted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older and have excellent customer service skills. Driver history must comply with Sanford driver qualification standards for insurability.
• The employee must have a current valid driver’s license, and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category II drivers. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. If not certified at time of hire, must be certified within six months. Training will be provided.
