LTC Closed Door Pharmacist

Location: Colorado Springs, CO (On-site)

Job Type: Contract

Pay Rate: $65.75/hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM (possible one Saturday before year-end)

Hours: 40 hours/week

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed LTC Closed Door Pharmacist to support day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensuring safe and compliant medication dispensing, accurate patient records, and exceptional patient counseling. This role also includes supervising pharmacy support staff and supporting clinical services as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Accept and dispense prescription medications in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate for patients, including screening for interactions, contraindications, and dosage concerns.
• Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications (storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions).
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and manage pharmacy files appropriately.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify potential over-usage patterns.
• Provide patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on proper handling and use of medical devices (e.g., blood pressure monitors, glucose meters).
• Compound medications for external or internal use; prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff members including pharmacy technicians and pharmacy clerks.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels for pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Identify drug‑related problems and communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare practitioners.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns to support patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
• Active Pharmacist license in the state of Colorado (state pharmacy board) required.
• Ability to work on-site in Colorado Springs, CO.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
