Job summary

TotalMed RN in Des Moines, IA seeks an experienced travel RN for Long Term Acute Care. This LTAC role covers 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, and 13-week engagements with travel employment.

You will care for patients with complex needs, perform assessments, administer meds, manage vents and lines, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to discharge patients. At least 1 year LTAC or high-acuity experience and active BLS/ACLS are required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of RN experience in LTAC or high-acuity setting.
• Current BLS certification and state licensure eligibility.
• ACLS certification may be required before beginning.

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Administer IV meds, manage central lines, monitor vitals and labs.
• Provide ventilator and tracheostomy care and wound management.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapists, physicians and case managers.
• Support mobility, hygiene and nutrition; supervise LPNs/CNAs.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and document care accurately.
