Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel RN for a Long Term Acute Care assignment in Des Moines, IA. The role requires critical care proficiency, ventilator and wound care, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, administer IV meds, and supervise LPNs/CNAs while ensuring accurate documentation and smooth discharge planning. Travel duties include 13-week duration, night shifts, and 36 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of RN experience in LTAC or high-acuity settings.
• BLS certification required; ACLS may be preferred.
• Must be eligible for state licensure in Iowa.

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Administer IV medications and monitor vital signs.
• Provide ventilator and tracheostomy care and advanced wound management.
• Supervise LPNs and CNAs and collaborate with interdisciplinary team.
• Document care accurately and in real time; assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge planning.
