Paycom - ATS is seeking a Wholesale Parts Counterperson to deliver fast, accurate parts service to wholesale customers such as body shops and dealerships. You will use VINs and catalogs to identify parts, prepare quotes, and process orders, while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities include handling backorders, coordinating with shipping, and protecting department gross profit, all within a tidy, professional warehouse environment.

WHOLESALE PARTS COUNTERPERSONDepartment: Parts | Reports To: Parts Manager | Status: Full-TimePOSITION SUMMARYThe Wholesale Parts Counterperson is responsible for providing fast, accurate, and professional parts service to wholesale customers, including body shops, repair facilities, dealerships, and other automotive businesses. This position requires strong customer service, parts knowledge, attention to detail, organization, and consistent follow-through.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESAnswer wholesale calls promptly and professionally.Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale customers.Accurately identify parts using VINs, electronic catalogs, and manufacturer resources.Prepare accurate quotes, including correct part numbers, pricing, and availability.Enter and process customer orders accurately.Follow up on quotes, emails, orders, and customer requests.Monitor backorders and upgrade orders when urgency requires it.Communicate ETAs, delays, discontinued parts, and order changes to customers.Maintain detailed notes on quotes and orders so account activity can be easily understood.Follow dealership pricing guidelines and protect department gross profit.Process returns and credits according to dealership and manufacturer policies.Help reduce returns by verifying parts and vehicle information before ordering.Coordinate with shipping, receiving, and delivery drivers to ensure complete and accurate orders.Develop new wholesale business while maintaining existing accounts.Take ownership of mistakes and work quickly to correct customer issues.Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSAccuracy: Correct parts, quantities, pricing, and customer information.Follow-Through: Complete promised calls, emails, quotes, and customer updates.Urgency: Recognize and properly handle time-sensitive orders and backorders.Profitability: Maintain appropriate gross profit while remaining competitive.Organization: Maintain control of quotes, orders, returns, and backorders.Customer Service: Build relationships that encourage repeat business.Teamwork: Communicate effectively and support the entire Parts Department.QUALIFICATIONSAutomotive/dealership parts experience preferred.Wholesale parts experience preferred.Strong electronic parts catalog and computer skills.Excellent phone, communication, and customer-service skills.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.Dependable attendance and punctuality.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.EXCELLENCE • GROWTH • HARMONYExcellence: Deliver accurate, professional, and timely service.Growth: Continuously improve parts knowledge, sales skills, and customer relationships.Harmony: Work together, communicate respectfully, and support the success of the entire department.Qualifications:Experience:Previous experience in automotive parts sales or as a parts counterperson is highly preferred.Knowledge of automotive parts, tools, and accessories is essential.Skills and Abilities:Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.Ability to read and understand parts catalogs, schematics, and diagrams.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Basic computer skills (e.g., using parts software, spreadsheets, email).Education:High school diploma or equivalent required.Additional certifications or training related to automotive parts and service (e.g., ASE Certification) is a plus.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift heavy parts (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.Comfortable working in a warehouse or retail environment.
