Responsibilities

• Monitors electronic messaging related to patient and provider requests within scope of practice.
• Determines acuity of needs based on messaging content and initiates follow-up calls.
• Directs messages and transfers calls to RN when outside scope of practice.
• Provides patient education and counseling and evaluates education effectiveness.
• Documents patient data per guidelines and policies.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Advocates for the patient and completes department-specific procedures within scope of practice.
• Maintains privacy and confidentiality and complies with Kaiser Permanente policies.
